Published by onThe Ponds is Blacktown’s newest suburb in the north-west development area of Sydney. Lifestyle and recreational facilities include parks, ovals, green spaces, cycleways, walkways and playgrounds. Western Park is a focal point for the community and features a 7.5 metre high climbing net. Rotating equipment, swings and climbing equipment provide a host of fun play activities for the family to enjoy. Viva Recreation also supplied and installed the rubber safety surfacing which includes "poured in place boxes" that allow for easy tensioning of the net structure (scroll down for more information).
The playground features the following Dynamo and Proludic playground equipment:

One of the most useful features of Viva Recreation's net climbers is that they can be installed into rubber safety surfacing with special housings for the turnbuckles. Net Climbers require tensioning approximately once a year. If the net has been installed into sand or playground mulch the surfacing material can be shovelled away to access the turnbuckles and then replaced . However, if the turnbuckles are installed into rubber safety surfacing the rubber needs to be cut away to access the turnbuckles for tensioning. The rubber surfacing then needs to be patched after tensioning which can be expensive and messy. This is additionally difficult if the playground is in constant use. With the use of Viva Recreation's special housings tensioning the nets is fast and convenient, and there is no need to cut away and replace rubber. The use of the special housings will save thousands of dollars in maintenance over the life of the net.
